I would have given this book 5 stars if it weren't for the slightly disappointing end and the small volume. I thought the idea was so brilliant it deserved to be developed more thoroughly. Teulé' s fine feel for tragic satire felt refreshing and his charachters kept me laughing throughout. The future painted in 'The Suicide Shop' is bleak, but there is hope at the end of the tunnel. Our present is one of shiny objects and endless possibilities, yet hopelesness seems to have become ever more present.
